Japanese streamer Airi Sato, known by the nickname Ai Mogami, was attacked during an online broadcast and inflicted dozens of wounds, NHK reports.
22-year-old Sato was broadcasting live while walking around Tokyo, and at some point she was attacked by a man armed with a knife. He inflicted dozens of wounds to the streamer’s stomach, neck, and head. As Mainichi specifies, the victim was taken to the hospital, but she did not survive.
The police arrested 42-year-old Japanese citizen Kenichi Takano at the scene of the crime. He confessed to the attack on Sato and explained his motives by the fact that the victim did not repay him the money she borrowed and did not contact him. At the same time, Takano said that he did not plan to deal with the streamer.
It is specified that the attacker had previously filed a lawsuit against Sato over a debt and the streamer was ordered to return the money to him.
