What souvenirs can you bring from Japan

One of the most suitable gifts from the Land of the Rising Sun is considered to be a kimono. The cheapest ones are sold in simple shops, “consumer goods” (but quite high-quality) – in shopping centers, and premium and very expensive ones – in workshops.

Some types of goods are difficult to classify as souvenirs, but they are in high demand: cosmetics with pearls, seaweed and shellfish extract, jewelry and accessories – from socks to scarves, as well as electronics and equipment.

A great gift is chopsticks. They are made of varnished wood (and the coolest ones are made of ivory and expensive types of wood) and are available in different sizes, including children’s. Many people bring a full set of dishes for sushi and rolls along with chopsticks. And also – porcelain bowls and saucers.

Japan has excellent green tea. Rare, elite varieties are chosen as gifts for connoisseurs, and sencha, bancha and matcha are ideal for lovers. Grocery stores sell noodles, sweets, sake, herbal and plum liqueurs.
Traditional wooden kokeshi dolls consist of a cylindrical body and head, they are painted and sold everywhere. Geisha and samurai figurines can be found in shops.

Two of the most popular paper symbols of Japan are wagasa fans and umbrellas. Many people buy panels with images of sakura, hieroglyphs, and classic landscapes. And anime fans, of course, stock up on magazines, books, posters, and T-shirts: all of this is available in unimaginable quantities.
