The vice common for all options for the section – large apartments settled in adjusted – especially in the first large -block.
Only three – and four -room apartments with a living area of 40.6 m2 and 57.5 m2 were designed in it. The authors of a complex of crop -block houses with transverse walls have somewhat improved the composition of the sections, creating more flexible houses with two and three -room apartments, the living space of which was 29.8 and 48.7 m2.
Giving an assessment of the external appearance of residential buildings of the second quarter, it is necessary first of all to dwell on the earliest brick houses that have a height of rooms equal to 2.5 m. Extremely simple and at the same time expressive facades of these houses are composed of functionally and structurally necessary elements. The completely smooth walls of these houses are animated by horizontal windows of good proportions, balconies with light metal grilles and a wavy lower plane of the plates, as well as a simple cornice, a small remote part of which is supported by narrow shelves. The houses under consideration are successful and truly modern in interpretation of architectural forms residential buildings.
The search for the image of a prefabricated residential building is very interesting. The authors of large -block houses correctly appreciated the compositional capabilities of industrial housing construction, the strength of the emotional impact of the rhythmic repetition of the parts and details of the building. However, in the layout of houses, on the one hand, the desire to maximize the number of sizes was observed by refusing the corner section and apply only two options for the ordinary section in all large -block houses. On the other hand, the three-step (in the longitudinal direction) The constructive scheme contradicted the requirements of the industrialization of construction, as it led to a large number of constructive planning parameters. The consequence of the small step of the bearing transverse walls (2.75; 3 and 4.25 m) was an excessive reserve of their strength and associated with this aimless consumption of wall building materials.
The authors sought to identify the large -block structure of a residential building, but used for this purpose the compositions of the composition and decorative forms characteristic of heavy stone architecture, which was reflected in the then enthusiasm for the architecture of previous historical eras.
